Doha Qatar: (Tuesday 20 April 2004) BANSHEE Bikes, under the aegis of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), are hosting quad drag race here on April 23 and 24 at the Sealine district.

A sponsorship agreement to this effect was signed yesterday at the QMMF office between QMMF President Nasser bin Khalifa al-Attiyah and Banshee's Khalid al-Rumaithy.

“The unique event will give quad enthusiasts a memorable opportunity to test their skills against other experts in this sport,” al-Rumaithy said.

Al-Attiyah said the event was one of the QMMF's efforts to develop interest of motorsport among the youngsters. "We want the youngsters to take part in this event and exhibit their skills," he said.

He said the QMMF would like the youngsters to come forward and join the thrilling world of motorsport. "After Nasser bin Saleh al-Attiyah's victory in the FIA Middle East Rally Championship last year and his impressive showing in the World Rally Championships this year, many have shown interest in rallying," he added.

Banshee’s Salim al-Mannai was also present on the occasion.
